2006-07 Ladies Tennis Awards

Katie Anliker, a junior from Harlan, Ia. was chosen by her teammates as the Most Valuable Player award for the 2006 tennis season. Nicole Hansen, a sophmore from Becker, Mn. recieved the Most Improved Player award for the 2006 season.

2007 Men's Tennis Awards

Jeff Shinrock, a senior and Team Captain from Cedar Rapids, Ia. was chosen the Most Valuable Player for the 2007 men's tennis season. Ronald Muhammad, a sophmore from Lynwood, Ill.was recieved The Most Improved Player Award for the 2007 men's tennis season.

Michael Sly

Michael Sly

 

 Michael is a one time letter winner who has battled through a number of different injuries since his freshman year.  In his first full year of action he was second on the team with 84 total tackles with 12.5 of those tackles for a loss.  He also led the team with 5 interceptions, and was selected to Don Hansen’s Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-American honorable mention.  He has been working hard this off-season and was selected to be a team captain for the 2007 season.  We look for Michael to keep improving and to be a major force in the IIAC this upcoming season.   

MAJOR/MAJORS: Environmental Science Major and Business Minor
FAVORTIE BVU FB MOMENT: My favorite BV football moment is just hanging out with the guys before the games.
FUN FACT: I love to go hunting
CAREER GOALS: My career goal is to land a job working as a conservationist or something along those lines.

FAVORITE TV SHOW: I have two favorite shows the first is the Dream Season and the second is the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Cody Pierce

Cody Pierce

 

 Cody is a three year letter winner, and returning team captain for the 2007 season.  He led our team with a 137 tackles last season with 15 of those being tackles for a loss.  He also had 3 interceptions and carried the ball for 2 touchdowns on short yardage situations.  This past season he received the honor of Don Hansen’s Football Gazette NCAA Division III All-America second team at linebacker.  We look for Cody to keep improving at the linebacker spot and to be one of leaders this upcoming season.

FAVORITE BVU FOOTBALL MOMENT:  Beating Simpson in 06' Homecoming
FUN FACTS/FAVORITE NON FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES: playing cards games and watching movies
