Bethel Post Game Report
Great Opening Weekend!!!
The Varsity and JV teams started off our season with two
great wins for the program. On Saturday
our guys came ready to play, and I feel they fought hard all day long. We had to overcome adversity with a few early
turnovers, but everyone stuck together and we pulled through for the win. It was a great way to kick off the 2007 season
against a great opponent.
On Sunday our JV team took the field against Iowa Central
Community College. They also played
extremely hard from opening kickoff to the final buzzer. We moved ball well offensively scoring 47
points and the defense pitched a shutout.
Our younger guys got a chance to show what they can do in a game setting
and perform under pressure.
With no game this Saturday to prepare for this weekend, we
are focusing on fixing mistakes made in week one and healing up bumps and
bruises. Offensively we are working on
being more physical up front, and cleaning up our route running. Defensively the focus is on finishing drills,
and playing at a high tempo.
Our coaching staff was able to attend a bunch of area high school
games last Friday night and was impressed with the talent level in the area. We also had a Game Day Visit for prospects
this past weekend and had a great group of young men and their families in attendance. We have three more Game Day Visits and are
excited to get many more talented prospects on campus. Those dates are:
Sept. 22nd – vs. Coe (Family Weekend)
Oct. 6th – vs. Cornell (Homecoming)
Nov. 3rd – vs. Dubuque (Senior Day)

Men's Basketball Welcomes Freshmen Class
Welcome to Buena Vista Basketball for the 2007-08
season. It will be an excellent year for
our program, as all of our players have returned, who did not graduate. We also have some freshmen that we are
excited about. Since this is our first
blog, we will talk about our 6 freshmen.
5 of the 6 newcomers played in their respective state tournaments last
year, so they are used to being successful.
Sam Moser --
Tyler Case -- Santa Rita H.S. Sam is from
Jalaal Madyun --
JP Baker --
Austin Ferguson --
Mitch Petersen -- Harlan H.S. Mitch was a back up post on Harlan' team last
year. Their team only lost to Heelan in
the Semi Finals last year, and has been a part of one of the most successful
programs in the state.
Those are our freshmen, and we are excited about this year,
and what could transpire with our team.
Go Cubs!!!
Go Beavers!!!
