Baseball wins 1-0
We picked up another win vs. a regional opponent today (Friday vs. the University of Chicago) 1-0 in 12 innings. Chris Dolezal walked with the bases loaded scoring Adam Hardie, there were two outs and a 3-2 count at the time. Stellar pitching and solid defense carried us today. Our offense had 11 hits today, but couldn't come up the big hit to score runs. We hit into a bases loaded double play, and left 13 runners on base. We faced a good pitcher today, but we need to do a better job of situational hitting. I was happy with how we maintained our composure in a tight game. I have to commend Ryan Dupic and Nick Viet who combined on the shutout, as we did not allow a walk or hit batsman in the game. Our entire pitching staff has done a very good job of making the opponents put the ball in play on this trip.
Due to a 6:00 am wake up call, I will refer you to the school's website for our box score. We are scheduled to wrap up our spring trip at 9:00 am vs. Eastern Connecticut State, a team that qualified for the DIII World Series last season. Michael Barta and Mark Blum will handle the pitching duties on Saturday.
