Men's Basketball Welcomes Freshmen Class
Welcome to Buena Vista Basketball for the 2007-08
season. It will be an excellent year for
our program, as all of our players have returned, who did not graduate. We also have some freshmen that we are
excited about. Since this is our first
blog, we will talk about our 6 freshmen.
5 of the 6 newcomers played in their respective state tournaments last
year, so they are used to being successful.
Sam Moser -- Omaha
Westside H.S. Sam is a tough
competitor, and was the glue to help the team play well down the stretch and
play in the Nebraska State Tournament.
Sam was the leading scorer on the team, and will be a solid off guard in
the future.
Tyler Case -- Santa Rita H.S. Sam is from Tuscon, AZ. And we are excited to have this point guard
in our program. He has taken a chance to
leave the comforts of home and be a part of our program. He helped lead his team to the Championship
game in Class 4A in Arizona.
Jalaal Madyun -- North Butler
H.S. Jalaal is a guard from a successful
team last year in Eastern Iowa. They may not have made the State Tournament,
but they were ranked in Class 2A all year.
Jalaal is a big strong guard that can play different positions.
JP Baker -- Omaha
Gross H.S. JP's team did not play in the
State Tournament, but JP had a solid year, and is a strong player on the
wing. He is also an excellent catcher,
and will be playing baseball also.
Austin Ferguson --
Sioux
City Heelan.
Austin is a pt. guard who
played on a team that lost in the Championship game of Class 3A last year.
Austin
is strong and is a good team player.
Mitch Petersen -- Harlan H.S. Mitch was a back up post on Harlan' team last
year. Their team only lost to Heelan in
the Semi Finals last year, and has been a part of one of the most successful
programs in the state.
Those are our freshmen, and we are excited about this year,
and what could transpire with our team.
Go Cubs!!!
Go Beavers!!!

This was a nice, personal touch, and I'm sure it will make the new players feel very welcomed!
Thanks,
Tammy Case
